Karmic Hit was an Australian record label and recording studio owned and run by John Kilbey and his older brother Steve Kilbey (of the band, the Church).[1] It was founded in 1992 in Sydney. The label roster included the owners' bands, side projects and solo works as well as those by other artists: the Bhagavad Guitars (John Kilbey's group), Snog, David Lane and Halogen.[1]
Karmic Hit's first release was "Hypnotise Me", a CD single by the Bhagavad Guitars on 29 February 1992, which was followed by their album, Hypnotised in May.[2] One of the last releases by the label was that group's final album, Unfamiliar Places (April 2011).[3][4] Karmic Hit's studios were used to record the Church's albums, Sometime Anywhere (May 1994) and Magician Among the Spirits (August 1996) but were issued via Mushroom Records' imprint White Records.[5]
