Karol Jets (born 15 October 1980 in Spisská Nová Ves, Czechoslovakia) is a professional ice hockey player currently living and playing in the United Kingdom.
Jets' ability was spotted from an early age where he was "sports streamed" at Grammar School until the age of 14, where he then attended the local High School while still training and playing Junior Hockey for Spisská Nová Ves.
He progressed through the junior system to play for the senior team in 00-01 and in 01-02 the team earned promotion to the Slovak Extra league for the 02-03 season. Management decided to draft in a more experienced squad for the season and Jets moved to Trebišov. However, the strategy to bring a more experienced team backfired as halfway through the season Spiska found themselves at the bottom of the league. He was later brought back to Spiska for the rest of the season. On his first game in the Slovak Extraliga Jets accomplished the rare achievement of scoring twice on his league debut and consequently headlined the local Sports Pages.
Spiska were unable to turn the season around and again were back in Liga 1 for the 03-04 season. On making a move to Dragon Presov for the 04-05 he found himself getting little ice time and again made the return to his home team to finish the season.
In 2005 he made a move to the UK playing for the Telford Tigers in the ENPL where he finished the season in the top 10 points scorers. Staying in the UK he moved to the Solihull Barons for the 06-07 season where he finished the team's top points scorer and stayed faithful to the team, turning down the opportunity to move to the injury-struck Guildford Flames.
With Solihull making the decision not to continue in the EPL, he returned to Telford for 07-08 where he found himself fulfilling a more defensive role as a centre man for the defender-light Tigers.
Jets decided that hockey would not be his main priority for the 08-09 season and played for the Telford Titans in the ENL N2 where he was instrumental in their fight for promotion.
Since the 10-11 season he continues to play for Telford currently with Telford Tigers 2 in the NIHL D2 Northern league.
