Karona
Hoeuy Karona, better known in the Cambodian art scene under the name Karona, is a Cambodian artist from Siem Reap Province. His favorite subjects are animals and nature, especially those from Cambodia.
Biography
Initially self-taught, using tutorial videos on the internet, Karona made his first solo exhibition in Kampot, when he was only 18 years old.[1] The same year he was invited to join the Angkor International Festival of the Arts in Siem Reap for a solo exhibition.[2] During the exhibition, the Director of Phare Ponleu Selpak invited him to join directly in the second year the visual art classes of this organization to develop his techniques. During that time, his works have been exposed at the Rosewood Hotel in Phnom Penh during the Veal Veaeng Disquisition exhibition [3][4] and to a solo exhibition in Siem Reap [5][6][7]. He graduated in 2023.
