Patricio Salvador Moreno Toro (born December 21, 1942, Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean-born American visual artist and painter.
Biography[edit]
Toro was born on December 21, 1942 in Santiago, Chile. In 1958, he exhibited his debut solo show at Sala de Exposiciones de “El Diario Ilustrad” in Santiago. In 1963, he exhibited a solo show at Galerie de Arte Taller 13 in Santiago. In 1970, Toro exhibited seven shows in Sweden and Denmark, showing at the Aguélimuséet in Sala and Prisma Galleries in Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Sundsvall. In 1977, Toro moved to Israel where he had a show at the Delson Richter Gallery in Jaffe. He spent seven months in Israel, where he met Ilana Goor. By the effective role of Ilana Goor, he received an invitation to exhibit his work in the United States for the first time. In 1978, he had a solo exhibition at the California Museum of Science and Industry. In 1983, he met Mary Lovelace O'Neal and they married shortly afterward. Along with O’Neal, they exhibited Troisieme Triennale Mondiale d’Estampes show at the Musee d’Art Contemporaine de Chemalieres in France from 1994 to 1997.
Toro has exhibited his works at Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago, Museum of Contemporary Art and Design in San José,
Örebro läns Museum in Orebro, University of Oxford in Oxford, Smithsonian Institution Offices in Washington, California Science Center in Los Angeles, Kenkeleba Gallery in New York, San Francisco Public Library in San Francisco, Casa de las Américas in Havana, among others.[1]
