Kashim Musa Tumsah MFR (born April 16, 1965) is a Nigerian lawyer, diplomat, and businessman. He is the Chairman of Gulf Consulting LLP, Avocado Investment International Limited and Chairman, Alegre Integrated Farm and Resort Ltd . He is a recipient of the Member of the Federal Republic award.[1][2][3][4]
Background
Tumsah was born in April 1965. He attended Shehu Garbai Primary School in Maiduguri and King's College in Lagos. He holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Maiduguri, graduating in 1988, and was called to the bar in 1989.[5] Tumsah is a recipient of the Laszlo Gambos Bursary Award from the Centre for Petroleum, Mineral Law Policy Studies. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), the Energy Institute (UK), the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the African Bar Association, and the International Bar Association.[6][7]
Career
Tumsah began his career as a member secretary of the Nigerian Technical Committee on International Boundary Negotiations, he is a counsel and secretary to the Nigerian legal expert team to the international court of justice in the Nigerian - Cameroon boundary, he is the Special Assistant to the Director General, National Boundary Commission. He is the pioneer Legal Adviser of the Nigeria - Sao Tome and Principe Joint Development Authority JDA. He is the Executive Director Finance and Administration and Secretary of the board and joint ministerial council of the JDA. He served as Executive Vice Chairman Gulf of Guinea Consulting Ltd, Chairman Gulf Consulting LLP, Chairman Avocado Investment International Limited, Director Project Coordination Dragon Oil and Gas Cote D'Ivore block C1-24 Project. He participated in the negotiations of the block 1 production sharing contract between Chevron - Texaco, Exxon - Mobile and Dangote EER and negotions drafting agreement for the international unitasation of Zafiro /Ekanga Oil fields between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. He is a member secretary review and drafting of the bill established Border Region Development Agency.[8][9][10][11][12]
Personal life
Kashim Tumsah is married to Zubaida Umar, the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Nigeria. They have children.[13][14]
