Kassogtha are a Swiss five-piece progressive metal & death metal band from Geneva, Switzerland. The group was formed by Stephanie Huguenin in 2013.

History

Deus Ex Machina & debut album

The band began its life as Deus Ex Machina and released their debut album "A New World To Come". This debut album was first released in April 2017, under the former band name "Deus Ex Machina", and then re-released in December 2018 after the band's name change to Kassogtha.[1]

Name Change and "The Call" EP

In 2018 Kassogtha signed to the international talent management agency KM Music LP (also managing Cellar Darling, among others) based in London, UK and owned by Merlin Sutter(ex-Eluveitie).[2] Following the signing, the band saw the addition of drummer Dylan Watson and guitarist Martin Burger to the band. The new outfit changed their band name into Kassogtha. On August 29, 2019 they released an EP entitled "The Call",[3] featuring 4 songs including a cover song of Pink Floyd entitled "Welcome to the Machine".

The release was followed by a European tour as part of the Female Metal Voices 2019 tour [4] alongside Leaves Eyes and Sirenia.[5] The tour included shows in London (UK), Manchester (UK) and Leipzig (DE) amongst others.[6][7]
