Katie Willingham

Katie Willingham is the author of Unlikely Designs (University of Chicago Press, 2017)[1], which is her first book, published in September 2017. She studied at The University of Michigan's Helen Zell Writers' Program in poetry where she was the recipient of a Hopwood Award in poetry, a Theodore Roethke Prize, and a Nicholas Delbanco Thesis Prize.[2] Her work has appeared in such journals as Kenyon Review,[3] Poem-A-Day,[4] Third Coast,[5] West Branch, and others.

Willingham is from Nyack, NY. She earned a B.A. in English from Macalaster College. She taught at the University of Michigan from 2016-2017 as a lecturer.[6] She currently resides in New York after going on tour for her first book.
