Katlego Kotsane (born 20 April 1997) is a South African actress and musician. She has been in the theatre industry since 2013.
Early life and career
Katlego Kotsane was born and bred in Pretoria, Gauteng, to Dr. Daisy Kotsane and Dr. Joel Thabane. She attended a Catholic school Loreto Convent School, Pretoria. Katlego has been involved in the Theatre industry since 2013. Her main focus has been Musical Theatre as a whole, she began her journey with Dramatic Arts at Loreto Convent School, Pretoria where she learned the basic concepts of Drama. During this time she performed at Tshwane Youth Arts Festival.[1] held at the South African State Theatre [2] where she played multiple roles from year to year [3].
She was a member of the University of Pretoria Youth Choir [4] from 2013-2016. During her time there she travelled internationally with the Choir to multiple countries with singing and dancing, participated in a Musical called Naledi an African Journey written by Franco Prinsloo, Directed by Elizma Badenhorst [3]. She further built her knowledge at Usuthu Arts Lab [5] based in Pretoria, South African State Theatre [3].
Katlego has learned numerous aspects of the Performing Arts industry as a whole and is eager to learn more. She is exposed to the Television Industry where she has been behind the scenes as a Continuity, wardrobe, and makeup assistant and in front of the camera as a featured artist[3]. Katlego is currently studying towards a National Diploma in Musical theatre at Tshwane University of Technology [6] as a second-year student. She is now managing a choir called Devoted based in Atteridgeville[7], The choir consists of plus-minus 25 members in total[3].
