Kayla Simmons (born September 28, 1995) is an American influencer, model and former volleyball player from Florida. She started her volleyball career at a young age and served as team captain in high school for several years before playing for Marshall University. After retiring from volleyball, Simmons moved onto social media, where she is a model and an OnlyFans creator. She is known as the "world's sexiest volleyball player" as she commonly posts pictures of herself in a bikini.[1][2][3]
Early life and volleyball career
Simmons was born on September 28, 1995[4] to parents Brian and Kiersten Simmons and raised at Gainesville, Florida. Simmons attended the P. K. Yonge Developmental Research School where she started her volleyball career at a young age. She was the team captain in high school for three years, leading her team to several district title wins.[1][5] Simmons' performances led to her being selected to the 2013 USA Volleyball Women's Junior A1 Team, where she also served as a team captain, but for seven years.[1][5] Simmons was awarded the Wendy's High School Heisman honors and AAU All-American honors due to her impressive track record.[1] In 2011, Simmons took part in a USA vs. Florida High Performance appearance where she won four national qualifiers. She then started playing at Marshall University in West Virginia between 2014 and 2016 as an NCAA athlete. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. At the time her of graduation, she already had a lot of following.[2]
Modeling career
After retiring from volleyball, Simmons has moved onto social media, mostly on Instagram, for her modeling career. When she first started using social media, she found it difficult being an influencer and an athlete at the same tine.[3] She often posts pictures of herself in bikinis where she is known as the "world's sexiest volleyball player".[1] She commonly sunbathes in revealing swimsuits to get a tan, to impress her followers.[3] The Blast described her body as an "athletic build and sun-kissed skin", and that "her sultry pose and radiant smile exude a sense of empowerment and body positivity, resonating deeply with her followers".[3] She is also an OnlyFans creator and has appeared at the New York Post and Maxim Australia magazines. She occasionally still posts videos of herself playing volleyball on Instagram.[1]
In 2019, Simmons expressed an interest into becoming a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model where "they empower all body types and all women" and makes "everyone feel important and feel sexy and beautiful".[1]
In April 2023, Simmons said that she wished to have smaller breasts in middle school as it would make it easier for her to play volleyball, jump higher and run faster.[6] As of March 2025, Simmons has a million followers on Instagram and resides in Los Angeles.[1]
Body positivity
Simmons was criticized by her college administrators regarding her inappropriate Instagram posts. She felt "ashamed" as a result. At one point, they even asked Simmons to delete her Instagram account and "[she] was torn because I felt I couldn't embrace my body and play the sport I love. I've since learned that you can't let other people affect how you feel about yourself".[1][7] Simmons is an advocate on body positivity and said "never let someone make you feel ashamed of your body, and don't let other people affect how you feel about yourself, and be proud of who you are".[1] In the end, Simmons ignored the request to delete her Instagram account.[7]
