Kayode Adegbulugbe

Kayode Adegbulugbe (born 8 August 1978 in Ibadan) is a petroleum engineer from Ondo town in Ondo State, Nigeria.[1]

Education[edit]

Kayode graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, after which he earned a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He later furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Laws (LLM) in Oil and Gas Law from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.[1]

Career[edit]

Engineer Kayode Adegbulugbe serves as Chief Operating Officer at Green Energy International Limited (GEIL), which operates the Otakikpo marginal oil field in Nigeria. Under his leadership, GEIL has expanded production to 11,500 barrels of oil per day as of October 2023, making it the highest-producing marginal field operator in Nigeria.[2][3]

Personal life[edit]

Adegbulugbe is married to Obironke Adegbulugbe, with whom he has three children. He credits his family for shaping his sense of compassion and commitment to philanthropy.[4]

Philanthropy[edit]

Engineer Kayode Adegbulugbe's philanthropic initiatives include the provision of solar lights, the construction of an ultra-modern mosque, and the creation of walkways in the Osogbo market.[5][6]

Kayode financially supported Agboluaje Cooperative Societies as well as the Osun Farmers Group during the planting season to enhance agricultural activities and the local economy.[7]

Awards and honors[edit]

In recognition of his dedication to the community and his role in promoting unity, compassion, and positive change, he was installed as the Agbesinga Adinni of Osogbo Land by the Muslim community.[8][6]

Alongside the former Governor of Lagos State and immediate past Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, he was awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science (D.SC) by the University of Benin at the just concluded 48th convocation.[9]
