From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Keifer Patrick Walsh (born January 31, 1991) is a research associate in biochemistry at Colorado State University.

Background

Born and raised in Rogers, Arkansas, Walsh graduated from Rogers High School as an AP Scholar[1] with Distinguished Honors. He began taking classical piano lessons at age 6 and would eventually audition and gain acceptance into the Music Performance program at Colorado State University. He attended Arkansas Governor's School in 2008 studying Natural Sciences.

Walsh received his B.S. in microbiology from Colorado State University in 2013 and his M.S. in cell and molecular biology in 2014. While in college, he participated in award-winning[2] research under James Bamburg[3] on actin dynamics in neurodegenerative disease, such as Alzheimer's and traumatic brain injury. His research includes a mechanism for cofilin remodeling of actin in the presence of oxidative stress and neuroinflammation that requires prion protein to mediate the loss of synapses in neurodegenerative diseases.[4][5]

While completing his master's degree, Walsh served as an intern for U.S. Representative Jared Polis of Colorado's 2nd congressional district.[6]
