Early Days and Funding[edit]

KenSci was among the batch of startups that participated in the Microsoft's Machine Learning Accelerator Program in Seattle.[2]The program helped scale the business by partnering with the Azure Machine Learning team and Microsoft Sales teams to provide a comprehensive set of offerings, including mentorship, access to technology, customer introductions and more.[2]

In January 2017, KenSci raised $8.5 million in a Series A investment round, led by Ignition Partners.[3]The investment also saw participation from Philadelphia-area Osage University Partners and Brazil-based Mindset Ventures.[4]

Product[edit]

KenSci is a risk prediction platform for healthcare, powered by machine learning. With KenSci, healthcare organizations are able to gain insights on “Who might get sick?”, “What drives our healthcare costs?”, “How can we solve these problems?” and “How can we serve patients more efficiently across the continuum of care?”. KenSci ingests data from existing data sources, such as EMR, claims data, finance & billing and other patient-generated sources, to identify patterns and areas that are most susceptible to risk.[5]

Awards and recognitions[edit]

In February 2018, KenSci was recognized as a "Hot Brand" in the Paul Writer Bengaluru Brand Summit & Hot Brands 2018.[6]

In March 2018, KenSci was recognized and awarded the Gold Award by Seattle Business Magazine for their achievement in Digital Healthcare.[7]

In March 2018, KenSci was the recipient of the 2018 Microsoft Health Innovation Awards in the category Best Application of AI and ML.[8] The award was presented to the team at HIMSS 2018.

In June 2018, KenSci was announced as a finalist in Microsoft's Healthcare Partner of the Year award for 2018.[9]
