Ken Dunlop (born in Moe, Victoria, Australia November 1960) was an Australian Hall of Fame professional wrestler[1] known as Ken 'Dazzler' Dunlop[2][unreliable source?]and one of the owners of Down Under Wrestling Promotions (later The Australian Wrestling Alliance) from 1991 to 1998.[citation needed]
Dunlop was inducted into the New Age Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2015.[3]

Professional wrestling career[edit]
Early career[edit]
After attending an Australian World Championship Wrestling show at Melbourne Festival Hall in 1977, he was asked by local wrestlers John Schneider and Sam Rossi if he would like to learn professional wrestling.[6][unreliable source?] Dunlop then trained at MB's Gym in North Melbourne (owned by John Schneider, Sam Rossi, and three other wrestlers in Casey Miller, Fred Burger, and Jim Dimeros) and made his wrestling debut aged 17 years old on August 11th, 1978 at Watsonia RSL against Rob Magri.[citation needed]
He spent his first two years wrestling and refereeing in Melbourne for Club Wrestling, The Australian Wrestling Alliance, Australian Championship Wrestling, and Gatto Promotions.[citation needed]
Sydney[edit]
After trialling for Steve Rackman in July 1980[citation needed], Dunlop moved to Sydney that December to further his career. From 1980 to 1991, he worked for Main Event Promotions, Roy Heffernan's International Promotions, World Championship Wrestling, International Wrestling Promotions, All Star Wrestling Promotions, and World Wide Wrestling, wrestling on tours with the likes of Andre the Giant, Don Muraco, Killer Khan, Spiros Arion, Ciclon Negro, Jay Youngblood, and Mark Youngblood. In 1991 he formed Down Under Wrestling Promotions (later The Australian Wrestling Alliance) with Wayne Pickford and Bob Blassie and wrestled and promoted until August 1998.[citation needed]
