Kendel Kadowaki-Fleming (born 5 January 1996) is a Japanese cricketer and currently the captain of Japan national cricket team.[1] A left-handed batsman and off spin bowler, he has played for the national team since 2022.[2]

Career[edit]

Japan hosted Indonesia for a 3-match series at the Sano International Cricket Ground in October 2022, ahead of their T20 World Cup Qualifying tournament.[3][4] Fleming was named as the captain of the national side, he made his T20I debut against Indonesia on 9 October 2022.[5] He scored most runs in the series (98). He captained the Japanese team to clinch the series 2-1.[6][7]

He named as the captain of the national side in 2022 ICC T20 World Cup EAP Qualifier B[8] and finished as the top scorer, as the team advanced to the regional final.[9] He scored his highest T20I score, 114 runs off 46 balls against South Korea.[10]

He helped them to finish the Regional final as Runners-up, where he again ended up with most runs. He scored 218 runs in 6 matches with a top score of 65 runs off 54 balls against Vanuatu.[11][12]

He plays for the East Kanto Sunrisers in the Japan Premier League.
