The Voice[edit]
Kenzie decided to audition for season 20 of The Voice. He sang Keith Whitley’s Don't Close Your Eyes in the Blind Auditions. He got all 4 chairs to turn. Kelly Clarkson blocked Blake Shelton, meaning he could not choose Shelton as his coach. Kenzie joined Team Kelly and advanced each round of the competition, eventually getting to the finale, where he received second place. Throughout the entire competition, Kenzie became well known for his signature hairstyle, a mullet. All the coaches gave positive remarks about his hairstyle, with Shelton calling it the “triple threat mullet”.[3]
