Aequs Pvt. Ltd (formerly QuEST Global Manufacturing[1]) is a global engineering and manufacturing company headquartered in Aequs Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Belagavi, Karnataka. The company specializes in precision manufacturing, forging, sheet metal fabrication, surface treatments and assembly for for aerospace and allied industries. The name Aequs is based on aequus, the Latin word for equal, referring to a partnership between equals.
Aequs operates from several manufacturing facilities in India, France[2][3] and US[3]. Aequs SEZ, established in 2009 in Belagavi, is India’s first notified Precision Engineering and Manufacturing Special Economic Zone[4][5][6](SEZ).
Aequs is also expanding into defence manufacturing with its new facility in Goa, India[7][8]

History[edit]
2006: QuEST Global Manufacturing was founded as part of QuEST Global and it started the manufacturing facility at Bangalore, Karnataka. The company acquired Jacobs Vehicles Systems as its first customer and also got into an agreement with Magellan to support manufacture of Boeing 787 landing gear components.
2007: The company established its first joint venture with Magellan Aerospace, Aerospace Processing India Pvt Ltd (API). It also delivered first parts to Airbus 380.
2009: QuEST Global SEZ was started at Belagavi, India. In the same year, a Joint Venture company with Magellan, Aerospace Processing India Pvt Ltd (API), started its operations with approvals from Boeing and Airbus.
2010: The machining facility was started at SEZ, Belagavi. The company entered oil & gas vertical with a long term agreement with Baker Hughes.
2011: Aequs entered into forging business and established SQuAD Forging India Pvt Ltd as a joint venture company[9] between QuEST Global Manufacturing, Aubert & Duval and Setforge from France.
2012: In the year 2012, the first AeroSystems assembly was delivered to customer from Belagavi facility. To increase its manufacturing portfolio, Aerostructure Assemblies India Pvt Ltd (AAI) was founded as a Joint Venture with SAAB of Sweden. The company started its first unit at Houston, Texas to cater to the Oil & Gas industry.
2013: Joint Venture company, SQuAD Forging, delivered its first order.
2014: To strengthen the forging capabilities, a 10,000 ton hydraulic press was installed at SQuAD Forging. Year 2014 added yet another milestone in the form of first delivery for Airbus 380 from Aerostructure Assemblies India Pvt Ltd.
Aequs was born by separating and rebranding manufacturing business and SEZ from QuEST Global[1].
2015: The company acquired Texas-based T&K machine, rebranding it as Aequs Aero Machine[10]. In the same year, Aequs inaugurated its aerospace machining facility in India covering 100,000 sq. ft area. The company diversified into engineering plastics manufacturing by incorporating Aequs Engineering Plastics[11].
2016: Aiming to increase global footprint, France-based aerospace firm SiRA Groupe was acquired[12].
Aequs SEZ expanded free trade warehousing zone (FTWZ), with Apollo Aerospace components[13] and All Metal Services Limited (AMS)[4] respectively, the country's only[4] Aerospace FTWZ and material processing center.
Aequs won the ‘Airbus Innovation Award’ at the Supplier Awards ceremony held in Hamburg[14][15]
2017: SQuAD forging received approval from Safran, followed by Nadcap accreditation for its heat treatment lines.

- Aequs SEZ Pvt Ltd (formerly QuEST Global SEZ[1]) was established in 2009. Spread over 250+ acres in Belagavi, Karnataka, India, it is considered as India’s first notified precision engineering special economic zone[4][6]. Presently, it hosts 23 operational units covering over 600,000 sq. ft of manufacturing area and another 500,000 sq. ft is under rapid industrialization. Aequs SEZ is certified ISO 14001:2004 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007
- Aerospace Processing India Pvt Ltd (API) is a joint venture between Aequs and Magellan Aerospace[16][17]. The company provides aerospace surface treatments that are not readily available in India. The fully integrated, scalable facility is located at Aequs SEZ in Belagavi, Karnataka, India, and has been operational since 2009. API provides metal finishing treatment services for both the export market and the domestic market in India. API is certified EN 9100:2009 AS 9100C - JISQ 9100:2009 and Nadcap certified (AS7003) for chemical processing, surface enhancement and non-destructive testing.
- Aerostructures Assemblies India Pvt Ltd (AAI) is a joint venture between Aequs and Saab AB[18] located in Aequs SEZ, Belagavi, Karnataka, India. The company focuses on build-to-print assemblies for commercial and defense aircraft for emerging markets. AAI can manufacture aerostructure assemblies with sizes up to 4.0 x 2.0 meters, weighing up to 150 kilograms, and with a mix of metal and composite parts. Operations started in 2013 and the first assemblies shipped out in 2014. The plant has a built up area of 25,500 square feet with plans to increase it to 60,000 square feet in future. AAI is certified BS EN ISO 9001:2015 / EN 9100:2016 (Technically equivalent to AS9100D).
- SQuAD Forging India Private Ltd is a joint venture company for closed die forging in India. The JV, originally a tripartite agreement[9], currently has a structure with equal distribution among the partners Aequs Pvt Ltd, India, and Aubert & Duval SA (ERAMET Group, France). SQuAD primarily aims at the aerospace market to support major OEMs in their supply chain while contributing to their offset obligations. It focuses on aero structural parts, landing gear and braking system components in aluminium, steel, titanium or nickel base alloys. SQuAD also handles products for other markets such as highly critical parts for automotive, power generation and oil & gas. SQuAD is Nadcap certified (AS7003) for forging and heat treatment line.

Capabilities[edit]
Primarily into precision machining and assembly of aero systems, aero structures, landing gear, actuation systems and engine components, Aequs is also into sheet metal fabrication, forging, surface treatment, bench assembly, manufacturing engineering design services as well as manufacturing of engineering plastics components and products.
