Keram (Musical Artist)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Artist History[edit]

"Keram" is the name of a music performance and recording artist created and led Blue Dog Pict frontman Keram Malicki-Sánchez in 2007. Though Malicki-Sanchez is an established music producer and film composer, having written scores and music for Lifetime Network[1], New Line Cinema and others, his popular music catalog falls solely under the moniker "Keram." The earliest known public record of the performer operating under this name, is a music video for a song called "Antiskeptic" released to YouTube in 2007 that features drummer Bucket Baker. Malicki-Sanchez performed throughout Los Angeles under the name Keram, including the Rock The House benefit concert in 2007 in Hollywood featuring members of Papa Roach and Alice In Chains[2].

Keram released the solo acoustic album "Box" in 2007 that featured string arrangements by David Seitz and mastered by Noah Mintz.

His second full-length album "Come to Life" featured over 30 musicians and was executive produced by Rush guitar player Alex Lifeson.[3][4]. The CD features a crowd-funded 16-page booklet[5] with lyrics, liner notes and full color artwork by some of Los Angeles' best new artists including Craola, Nicola Verlato and Nathan Spoor.

In 2016 he released a song titled "(Don't Get Caught) By the Dazzling Charades" as a digital single.[6]. He wrote, recorded and mix the entire song live on the internet.

In 2017 Keram launched another crowdfunding campaign to produce two new studio recordings in Los Angeles[7]. It was successfully funded. Two years later, as the result of this funding, Keram released its next single "Artificial Intelligence" - a collaboration with a supergroup that included long-time collaborator Ryan Brown on drums, who was now playing for the Dweezil Zappa band, and bassist Carmine Rojas who famously played bass for David Bowie and Joe Bonamassa and rejoined by Lifeson on guitar. The music video for the song was created in collaboration with a Los Angeles based multimedia performance troupe called Robot Prayers, of which Malicki-Sanchez was a collaborating member.[8]

In 2020 he released the third single "That Light" featuring "...Lifeson (RUSH) on guitars, Rojas on bass, Brown on drums, Marc Thomas (Madras) on rhythm guitars, Pete Devlin (Blue Dog Pict) on lead guitar, and singers Jessica Marshall-Gardiner and Angie Brown. Tracked by Jason Achilles Mezilis, mixed by Michael Costantini, and mastered by Andy Vandette (Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater)"".[9][10]
