Kergal is a Village in Byndoor Taluk near Naykankatte.Kergal is a grama panchayat. Total population in kergal village is 4678.it consists Kergal, Naykankatte and Nadanavana village. It is located on the Panvel Cochi highway. Karnataks famous poet Mogeri Gopal Krishna Adgia Born here. The people in the village mainly depend on agriculture and fishing Nearest railway station is Bijoor Railway Station and Mookamabika Railway Station Byndoor.

Village has a few primary and middle schools. Kergal has an average literacy rate and some students drop out of school each year to work at the local fisheries or to support harvesting the local farms.
