Kerry Davis (born 31 March 1997) is an English boxer from Cheltenham. A former football player, Kerry Davis switched to boxing as a teenager and became a national champion in 2018. She is now a part of GB Boxing's podium potential squad, aiming for the Paris 2024 Olympics in the middleweight category. She hopes to follow the footsteps of Lauren Price, another footballer-turned-boxer, who competed in the same weight class. Davis made her debut at the IBA World Championship in 2021, reaching the last eight, and tested herself again at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.[1]
Kerry Davis hurt her foot soon after she joined the GB boxing team[2]. The Covid-19 pandemic also affected her boxing career. Her first big match as a senior boxer was in Bulgaria at the Balkan tournament. She won the gold medal by defeating Davina Michel from France[3]. She won another gold medal at the Bocskai in Hungary in 2022.[4]
The Maverick Stars Trust ambassador fought at the World Championship and lost in the last eight to a French boxer. Now she is aiming to win the biggest amateur boxing trophy.[5]
