Kevin Andrew L. Tan is a Filipino-Chinese businessman and investor who participates in the real estate, liquor, and fast food industry. He is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Alliance Global Group, a Philippine business conglomerate with interests in food and beverage industry, gaming and entertainment, tourism and hospitality, real estate development and quick service restaurants.
Early life and education[edit]
Kevin Tan is the eldest son of tycoon and billionaire Andrew Tan[1] and businesswoman Katherine L. Tan.[2]
He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Major in Management at the University of Asia and the Pacific.
Career[edit]
Kevin Tan started his career in real estate after earning his degree. At 22 years old, he joined their family business as a sales agent in the early 2000s.[3][4] Tan was tasked to build and manage their mall business, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, which serves as the commercial division of real estate company Megaworld.[3][4]
In 2018, his father, Andrew Tan, chief executive officer of Alliance Global Group Inc., stepped down from his position and appointed Kevin Tan to take his place[1]. Prior to the appointment, Kevin Tan served as AGI’s executive director since September 2016. At 38, he was the youngest CEO of a major Philippine business conglomerate.[5] He took charge of the strategic planning, direction and execution of the conglomerate and oversees AGI’s external affairs, financial operations, investments and acquisitions. [5] Tan also holds the Trustee and Treasurer position at Megaworld Foundation, Inc.[5]
Recognitions[edit]
Kevin Tan was honored by PeopleAsia with the People of the Year Award in 2018.[6]
He was recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Asia Leaders Awards 2019[7] . The same year, the American Association of the Philippines also named him as Entrepreneur of the Year at the 71st George Washington Charity Ball in 2019.[8]
He was recognized by the Philippine Tatler as part of the 400 List for his contribution to the food & drink, real estate & hospitality, and retail categories.[5]
Kevin Tan received honours in Asia Tatler’s 2018, 2017 and 2016 Generation T List, which recognizes young eantrepreneurs and creatives who have driven positive change in Asia.[9]
Personal life[edit]
Kevin Tan married Michelle See in Singapore in 2013[10]. Kevin and Michelle See-Tan have two children.[1]
