Kevin J. Mello (born August 30, 1960 in Watertown, New York, United States) is an American musician, composer and entrepreneur. He grew up in the Fall River, Massachusetts area. He currently serves as Vice President and Managing Partner for Music Media Solutions and is a bassist, guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist with over 30 years of live performance and recording experience. Mello holds a B.A. from UMASS and is a Cum Laude graduate. He was inducted into the International Honor Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success. In addition, he is a member of the elite MENSA International High IQ Society. As a bass player, self taught musician, and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass and keyboards), Mello has performed at over 3,000 live events to audiences as large as 25,000 people. At the age of 19, he and his bandmates formed the cover band “Sanctuary” which quickly developed a large following in Southern New England, catching the attention of the owner and very popular “Sebastian’s Night Club” in Middletown, R.I. who asked them to be the house band.

In 2002, Mello joined the nationally touring Dan Lawson Band which included appearances at “Bike Week” in Laconia, N.H. , Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Daytona, Fl, as well as several appearances at The Nashville New Music Conference. It was during this time that he began collaborating with Dan Lawson Band keyboardist Sean Hagon.

In 2003, Mello performed with The Dan Lawson Band aboard the Aircraft Carrier Intrepid in New York City at a memorial concert on the second anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01. The concert was held as a benefit to raise money for the victims and families who lost loved ones during the attack. That same year Mello and Hagon were technical advisors for “The Night of Healing Concert” in Providence, R.I. which was held to raise money for the victims of The Station Night Club fire. This successful event included performances by Mark Farner (formerly of Grand Funk Railroad), Rick Derringer, Paul Shortino, Blue Oyster Cult, Vanilla Fudge, John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band and many other well known acts.

In 2006, Mello joined The Dan Lawson Band for a performance on the HBO Original Series “Family Bonds”. In 2007, he collaborated with Sean Hagon on music for the Fox Sports Net New England Original Series “Celebrity Build” which starred NFL players Matt Light of The New England Patriots and John Runyan of the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2010 and 2011, Mello hosted and co-emceed the “Monster Jam” monster truck rally at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI.

Mello's collaborations with Hagon have included music for several local and national television shows as well as television and radio commercials, corporate jingles, and the theme song for a children’s television show which is under development in South Korea. They have recently been asked to provide music for a well known series on The History Channel and for a major national cell phone carrier.
