Khapri Alston (born July 1, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for the Columbian Dyip of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).[1]
High school career[edit]
Alston attended Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois.[2]
College career[edit]
After starring at Northeast Community College, Alston transfered to Midwestern State University in 2014.[3] As a senior, he averaged 13.6 points and 9.6 rebounds in 2015–2016[4] and was named to the All-LSC First Team.[5]
Professional career[edit]
Hemel Storm (2017)[edit]
After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, Alston signed with the Hemel Storm of the English Basketball League. In his first game with the Storm back on March 18, 2017, Alston recorded 30 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals against the Manchester Magic.[6] He played his last game with the Storm on April 2, 2017, when he recorded 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists against the Northumbria.
Carl A-Z Oruro Basketball (2018)[edit]
After just playing two games for the Hemel Storm of the English Basketball League, Alston signed with the Carl O-Z Oruro Basketball, a team from Bolivia. In his first game with Carl A-Z Oruro back on July 10, 2018, Alston recorded 29 points, 16 rebounds and 1 assist but his team was defeated by Amistad Sucre, 92-98.[7]
CD Valdivia (2019)[edit]
In 2019, Alston played for CD Valdivia in the Liga Nacional de Básquetbol de Chile.[8] In his first game with CD Valdivia back on October 6, 2018, Alston recorded 27 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists but CD Valdivia lost against Puerto Varas, 78-96.[9] On October 13, 2018, Alston recorded 17 points and 12 rebounds as the CD Valdivia got the win, 84-66, against Osorno Basquetbol. [10] On October 24, 2018, Alston recorded 20 points, 22 rebounds and 2 assists as CD Valdivia won 76-75 against Club Deportes Las Animas.[11] On November 17, Alston recorded 24 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks as the CD Valdivia won the game against AB Temuco, 81-74.[12] The next day, Alston and CD Valdivia was defeated by the Club Deportivo Basquetbol, 88-90, despite Alston recording a season-high 34 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks for CD Valdivia.[13] On December 21, Alston recorded 33 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists as they got the win against CD Universidad Catolica de Santiago, 95-84.[14]
In May 2019, he helped Valdivia win the LNB championship after beating Club Deportivo Colegio Los Leones de Quilpué in he LNB finals 4-1.[15] In that game, Alston recorded 23 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks for CD Valdivia.[16]
Columbian Dyip (2019–Present)[edit]
In August 2019, Alston signed with Columbian Dyip of the Philippine Basketball Association.[17]
