Khin Lay Nwe (Burmese ခင်လေးနွယ်; born 30 April 1982) is an actress, model, and businesswoman from Myanmar. She is a member of the Lisu ethnic group in Myanmar.
Early life
Khin Lay Nwe (Khin Khin) was born on 30 April 1982[1] at Mogok, Mandalay Region, Myanmar.[2][3][4] Beginning her career as a model in 2006, she appeared in music videos.[5]
Acting career
After modeling, she started appearing in Music videos. Soon after, she transitioned into acting and starred in numerous films and video productions.[6][7][8][9] [10][11]
Initial career
Business
On September 09, 2016, Khin Lay Nwe, along with her friend, launched a fashion store called "KAY Fashion & Fabric House."[12] The venture rapidly achieved success, leading her to launch her second location, "KAY Fashion & Fabric House 2," on December 11, 2017.[13] As her business endeavors grew, she slowly reduced her involvement in the entertainment sector to concentrate mainly on her entrepreneurial pursuits.[14][15] Additionally, she owns a plant shop called "Plants By Things4u.[16]
She broadened her business activities by launching a restaurant called "Lisu Village" (လီဆူရွာ) in Pyin Oo Lwin on May 5, 2022. Additionally, she established a coffee brand that shares the "Lisu Village" name.
Today, she primarily oversees her husband's hotel business, located in Kawthoung, where the couple resides happily.[17]
Personal life and other ventures
Khin Lay Nwe and her spouse have a long history, having been childhood friends and classmates who learned together. Although her future spouse had quietly harbored feelings for her since childhood, Khin Lay Nwe was oblivious to this, and they ended up apart for several years.[18] [19] [20] [21]
Their journeys ultimately intersected via mutual contacts, enabling them to form a tighter bond. In 2020, she made a formal announcement about their upcoming wedding. The couple is currently understood to be enjoying a tranquil and joyful life together at Kawthoung, Selava Beach. Her friends call her Island Girl.[22] [23] [24]
