Kim Dong-geun (Hangul: 김동근; Hanja: 金東根, born January 4, 1990, Jongro in Seoul) is a South Korean men's rights activist. He seeks to abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.[1] He was the fourth head of the organization Man of Korea.[2]
Kim was born in Jongro, Seoul, in 1990. From 2005 to 2008, he studied at Uijungbu High School (의정부고등학교). In 2008, he entered the music department of Kyung Hee University (경희대학교), but immediately took a leave of absence. From 2009 to 2011, he performed military duties.[3] In 2011, after his discharge, he joined Man of Korea.
He was appointed Public Relations Officer and planning officer of Man of Korea. However, in May 2013, he resigned and became involved in the management of a shopping mall company, Baechungyi-mol (베충이몰).[3] On July 26, 2013, following the death of the first head, Sung Jae-gi, he actively participated in resolving the ensuing chaos within Man of Korea. From July 29 to September 11, he was a member of the emergency planning committee of Man of Korea (남성연대 비상대책위원), and on September 16, he was appointed spokesperson of Man of Korea.[4] On November 11, 2013, he was elected joint representative of Man of Korea.[5]
