Kim Jun-seo (Hangul: ๊น์ค์; born November 20, 2001) is a South Korean singer and actor. He is a member of the boy group WEi and a former member of boy group 1THE9. He is best known for competing on the Mnet reality competition show Boys II Planet, where he ranked 8th in the final episode, earning him a spot in the South Korean boy group named Alpha Drive One, or ALD1.[1] Kim made his acting debut as the main cast member in the 2025 web series, Secret Relationships.[2][3]
Early life
Kim was born on November 20, 2001 and was raised in Ulsan, South Korea. He has a younger brother named Kim Jun-hui.
Career
2018โ2019: Under Nineteen and 1THE9
Kim first became known in 2018, while competing in the reality survival show Under Nineteen, a show designed to form a temporary boy group of 9 members, chosen by the public. Kim was the first trainee representing the show's performance team, and performed "Uptown Funk" for his first evaluation on the show.[4] Kim finished in ninth place in the competition and debuted as a member of 1THE9 on April 13, 2019 with their extended play XIX.[5] The group released 4 extended plays and disbanded on August 8, 2020 after 17 months of promotions.[6]
2020-2024: Debut with WEi
On June 17, 2020, Oui Entertainment announced they will be debuting a new boy group in the second half of the year.[7] The group, named "์์์ด" or "WEi", launched its official social media accounts on July 10.[8][9] On August 12, Oui Entertainment confirmed that Kim would join WEi after completing his promotions with 1THE9.[10][11]
Kim debuted with WEi on October 5, 2020, with the release of their extended play Identity: First Sight, featuring the title track "Twilight".[12]
On November 8, 2024, Kim was announced to be making his acting debut as the lead role in the live action adaptation of BL webtoon "Secret Relationships".[13]
2025-present: Boys 2 Planet and Alpha Drive One
On May 9, 2025, Oui Entertainment announced that Kim would be going on a temporary hiatus from group activities in order to participate in the Mnet reality survival program Boys II Planet.[14]
On September 25, 2025, Kim placed eight on Boys II Planet with a total of 3,856,677 points, securing his debut in South Korean boy group Alpha Drive One (abbreviated as ALD1).[15]
