King Dude (born Thomas Jefferson Cowgill, TJ Cowgill for short) is an American musician whose music is attributed as dark folk, neo-folk, or American folk. The generally gloomy sound is rounded off by the deep voice of the singer. The lyrics often deal with death and pain, although love, sunshine, and redemption also find their place in the lyrics. There are sometimes small parallels to Johnny Cash’s music.
