King Fahd Suburbs
A large urban project ordered by the former Saudi King Fahd to build three residential suburbs in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
The first and largest suburb is being built at the present time in Dammam, the capital of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The suburb is located on the west of the city on Abu Hadriyah Highway occupying a total area of about 30 square kilometers (12 sq mi).
The second one will be built in southern Jubail, the major industrial center, on the Dhahran-Jubail Highway occupying a total area of about 18 square kilometers (6.9 sq mi). Recent news stated the start of the work of leveling the lands in the area as a first phase.
The third and smallest one is to be built western Qatif on Abu Hadriyah Highway occupying a total area of only about 1 square kilometer (0.39 sq mi). This suburb when completed will be the nearest area in Qatif to King Fahad International Airport.
