Career

2020-2022: Beginnings, record deal and debut singles

Gugin independently released his debut singles "Gotta Tell You", "A Sad Valentine's Day" and "Rye" in December 2020, and the single "Goodbye & Good Riddance" on December 30, 2021. Gugin was signed to SMR Records in March 2022 after getting discovered by Hakoty Remki and Ariana Raykotto.

2022-present: Love & Depression, label controversy and NOTHINGS CHANGED

Gugin released his 8-track debut studio album Love & Depression on March 10, 2022, via SMR Records. This album spawned the singles "Love is Difficult", "I Fall Apart", and "Goodbye & Good Riddance (Remix)". On July 20, 2022, Gugin, along with Hakoty Remki and Ariana Raykotto left SMR Records claiming they verbally abused them and said their demos were garbage and "children's music". On October 20, 2022, Gugin released his EP NOTHINGS CHANGED[3][4] via his independent label Toledo Records, this EP spawned the singles "STABBED!", "1 Call Away" and "Goodbyes". On January 1, 2023, Gugin released the single "The Therapy Session" via Toledo Records. On January 2, 2023, Gugin released the compilation album Demon High.[5][6] King Gug is currently working on his second studio album Fallen Into The Darkness. King Gug and Ariana Raykotto are currently working on a collaborative album titled Unfinished Business, the album is named after their scrapped collaborative album Reality[7] which was later released in October 2022 without King Gug. Unfinished Business is scheduled for release in mid-2023. On January 4, 2023, Gugin obtained the rights to his masters released via SMR Records, all of his songs released by SMR Records are now owned by his label Toledo Records.

Feuds

First feud with Ariana Raykotto

On June 2, 2022 Ariana Raykotto posted a tweet "warning"[10] labeling King Gug, in which he responded saying "Oooo someone is mad", causing Raykotto to respond with "No, just warning record labels about TGl0ZXJhbCBzaGl0IGh1bWFu"[11]. "TGl0ZXJhbCBzaGl0IGh1bWFu" is "Literal shit human" in Base64. King Gug did not know what this binary sentence meant so he confusingly said "About what", causing Raykotto to say "About TGl0ZXJhbCBzaGl0IGh1bWFu so just decode it if you dont speak it."[12]. King Gug thought it was a glitched photo and said "There's no photo dawg", Raykotto simply responded with "Photo?".

Second feud with Ariana Raykotto

On June 2, 2022, the same day they feuded over King Gug wanting to leave SMR Records. King Gug stopped talking to Ariana Raykotto because Raykotto freaked out at a mutual friend of theirs which caused the mutual friend to think about suicide and stop talking to people. Hakoty Remki & the mutual friend also stopped talking to Raykotto for a while. On June 2, 2022 Raykotto put a public apology onto YouTube & Twitter[13], on June 11, 2022 Hakoty Remki & King Gug started talking to Raykotto again. The mutual friend still doesn't talk to Raykotto.
