History[edit]
The Gautam Rajputs are one of the oldest surviving dynasties in India. Their ancestry can be traced back to King Brihadbala of Kosala, with King Shakya Simha being a direct descendant. King Shakya Simha younger son, Amritoddan, eventually left the kingdom. His son, Pandu, settled in Doab, and was succeeded by his own son, Raja Randh Dev who was married to Pratihar Princess. It was during his reign that the Kingdom of Argala was established, and the Gautamas, named after their gotra "Gautama", began to rise in power and influence.
Raja Kaling Dev, Son of Raja Randh Dev, built a magnificent fort on the banks of River Rhind, which became the capital of the kingdom. The fort was a symbol of the dynasty's strength and prosperity, and it attracted visitors from far and wide, who marveled at its beauty and grandeur.
