Kishore Buxani is a Singaporean real estate investor and developer. He is best known for taking over Félicité Island, an uninhabited island in the Seychelles, and developing it into a tourist venue.

Life and career[edit]

Buxani obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the National University of Singapore in 1996. While working at Goldman Sachs, where he would eventually become Executive Director of Investment Management Division, Buxani began investing in Singapore property in 2000. He set up Buxani Group as a holding company in 2003.[1] He left Goldman Sachs in 2005.[2]

He teamed up with Mukesh Valabhji and his Capital Management Group for several property investments in Singapore, including Samsung Hub[3] and several office buildings and malls.[4][5][6]

In 2013, Buxani's company took over a 99-year lease on Félicité Island, which had been granted by the Seychelles government in 2007. Buxani became director of Félicité Island Development Limited. Together with Valabhji, who is Seychellois, he invested US$ 115 million in the first-phase development of the island. In mid-2013, they started the construction of a resort, which eventually covered a third of the island.[4][7]
