Kitengela Mixed Secondary School is located in Athi River on the Kitengela plain, 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) outside Kitengela Township, in Kajiado County, Kenya.[1] It is situated 500 metres (1,600 feet) metres off Namanga road. The campus doubles as House of Prayer International,[2] and the main building has "House of Prayers Church" written on its roof.
History and operations
This school was founded in 2007 by a group of educationists. Its pioneer entrants were a cross-section of Class Eight pupils from primary schools across the Kitengela area, Kajiado County and beyond.
The school is situated on a three-acre piece of land. It has a storey building with classrooms, a spacious library, laboratory, administration block, a spacious staff room, a kitchen, and sanitary rooms.
The subjects offered are designed and tailor-made to address both national and transnational challenges and needs, in addition to the approved curriculum for secondary schools by the Kenyan Ministry of Education.
The school is registered and has been sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education since 2010, marking an improvement in its mean grade every year.
