Kiwi Beach Resorts is an Italian hotel management company operating properties in Sicily and Sardinia. Founded in 2016 by entrepreneur Fouad Hassoun, the company manages nine hotels and is a subsidiary of Flash Tour Group, an Egyptian tourism conglomerate established in 1985.

History

Kiwi Beach Resorts was established in 2016 in Noto, Sicily, as the Italian subsidiary of Flash Tour Group.

The company began operations by acquiring and managing coastal properties in Sicily, later expanding to Sardinia.[1]

In 2016, the company assumed management of Hotel Club Eloro in Noto Marina. In winter 2016, it added the management of Residence I Baroni in Ortigia, Syracuse, which continued until 2025. In 2017, the company assumed management of Hotel Baia d'Oro in Licata and Hotel Hopps in Mazara del Vallo.

In 2018, the company expanded to Sardinia with the management of Castelsardo Resort and Hotel Pedraladda. In 2019, it added the management of Hotel Rasciada in Sardinia.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company maintained only Castelsardo, resort[2] in Sardinia, while the management of Hotel Pedraladda and Hotel Rasciada was not renewed. According to L'Unione Sarda, the company's activities in Castelsardo created approximately 132 jobs for local residents during this period.[3][4]

In 2024, the company purchased Castelsardo Resort. In 2025, it completed the acquisition of Hotel Hopps and ended the management of Residence I Baroni. The company also purchased Hotel Le Dune in Messina in 2025.

The company has announced plans to develop two hotels in Montecatini, Tuscany. Hotel Rossini and Hotel Bellini, scheduled to open in 2027.

Kiwi Travel

Kiwi Travel operates as the company's destination management division, providing transfers, excursions, and event management services in Sicily and Sardinia and Campania.[13]The division maintains a fleet of over 50 vehicles.

Leadership

Fouad Hassoun is the founder and president of Kiwi Beach Resorts and Kiwi Travel.[14] Born in Cairo to Lebanese parents, earned a Bachelor of commerce at Cairo University and began his career in tourism at age 19 as a tourist guide.[13] At the age of 25, he co-founded Flash Tour with his brother, which grew to become one of Egypt's leading travel agencies.[5] He moved to Italy in 2005 and established Kiwi Beach Resorts in 2016.[3][13]

Hassoun was interviewed by L'Unione Sarda in 2025 regarding the company's expansion in Sardinia. He stated that the decision to open properties during the COVID-19 pandemic reflected confidence in the future of tourism in the region.[3]
