Klement Tinaj (born February 26, 1990) is an Albanian-American actor, martial artist, stuntman, and producer.[1][2][3] He is best known for his martial arts action films.[4][5][6] He has since shifted his focus to politics, and ran for Governor of California in 2018.[7][8]

Biography[edit]

Klement Tinaj was born in 1990,[9] in Selcë of Kelmend in Albania, also known as Great Highlands (alb. Malësi e Madhe), north of the Albanian Alps. Tinaj spent his youth eternally on the move, and by the time he was 15, had attended five different schools in the US and Albania. He finally settled in 2005 in Yonkers, New York. While in high school, he developed an interest in acting and abandoned his plans of becoming a farmer.[10]

Career[edit]

At age sixteen Klement played the role Mr. Kirby in the show "You Can't Take It with You". After this show Tinaj was cast in three more shows "Lysistrada 2008", "Room Service" and "Julius Caesar" at Lincoln High School in Yonker, New York. Tinaj attended Five Towns College in 2009 and in his freshman year acted in three shows; "Macbeth", "The Full Mounty" and "Golden Parachutes".[11]

Throughout his time in Five Towns College, he starred in many shows such as "Aladdin", "Dora", "Twelve Angry Men", and "Ragtime".

Aside from the schools production, Tinaj starred in the play "Stolen", "Extra Special","American Dating Catastrophes Vol. 11" "The Table" and "X's & O's".

While pursuing his acting career Tinaj continued training in Tae Kwon Do as well as teach students ranging from all levels of the sport. The skills he acquires from training and his love for the martial arts led him to create the film "The Attacker" and "Bloody Hands". Tinaj wrote, produced and starred in the two films.

Tinaj wrote, directed and produced the play "Twenty Days". The show opened in Secret Rose Theatre in North Hollywood on May 24, 2015, and then traveled to Mccadden Theatre in Hollywood on June 7, 2015.

Tinaj also directed, produced, and fight choreographed the play "Some Kind of Love Story" written by Arthur Miller. The show opened in Dix Hills Performing Arts Center and then traveled to New York City off-Broadway at Producers Club Theaters.

He taught Art of Combat for New York Educational Theatre Festival in 2012 hosted by American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Tinaj still teaches Art of Combat in Los Angeles.

Tinaj has appeared as a supporting cast member in "Furious 7",[12][13] "The Good, the Bad and the Dead" and "Bloody Hands".[14][1]

Education[edit]

Tinaj received his B.F.A in Theatre Arts[where?] in December 2012, and his MFA in Acting for Film[where?] in January 2015.

On September 13, 2017, an endorsement[15] music video called Tent City (Vote Tinaj For Governor Of California 2018) from R&B singing group Gospel Choice was accepted by the Klement Tinaj Campaign to clinch a serious run for Governor of California in 2018.
