The Klimaliste Berlin (originally radikal:klima) is a political party in Berlin and part of the climate justice movement. It was founded in 2020 and is running for election to the Berlin House of Representatives in 2021. The taz newspaper counts the Klimaliste Berlin among the "big of the small".[2]
Their main objective is to keep global warming below 1.5-degrees, which means that the city should be emission-free ("climate-positive") by 2030 at the latest if the city contributes its fair share to the global effort.[3] The Klimaliste Berlin does not see itself as a single-issue party, because the climate issue extends to many political sectors.[4] Social justice is another central issue.[5] Their general vision is based on climate justice and Kate Raworth's Donut Economics.[6] Their political program has been received as very broad by German media[7][8]. In addition to the election program, there is a 300-page "climate plan"[9] that describes a possible path to a climate neutral Berlin in 2030.
