Kołomajki is a dance of Polish origin, specifically prominent in the region of Silesia in the south of the country. It is typically danced in the traditional clothes of Beskid Śląski by unmarried women.
The dance is relatively famous because of its use of braids. Women are required to swing the their braids towards the ground to show off their length. Only unmarried women were able to show their hair in a braid without wearing a cap, this is why the dancers were mosty part of this group.
