Kokoro Kato (加藤 心 Kato Kokoro, born November 1, 2000), better known mononymously as Kokoro (Hangul: 코코로; Japanese: ココロ), is a Japanese singer based in South Korea. She is a former member of the South Korean girl group Cherry Bullet, formed in 2019 by FNC Entertainment. In 2023, she became a contestant on Produce 101 Japan The Girls, where she finished in eleventh place and became a member of ME:I who are set to make their debut in 2024.
Early life
Kokoro was born on November 1, 2000, in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
Career
2019: Debut with Cherry Bullet
Kokoro officially made her debut as a member of FNC Entertainment's new girl group Cherry Bullet on January 21, 2019 with the release of their first single album Let's Play Cherry Bullet.[1]
On December 13, 2019, FNC announced that Kokoro had left the group and terminated their contracts due to personal reasons.[2]
2023–present: Produce 101 Japan The Girls
In September 2023, Kokoro joined Produce 101 Japan The Girls as a contestant. She finished in eleventh place and is set to debut as a member of ME:I in 2024.[3]
