Kolayad is a Grama Panchayath in Kannur district, state of Kerala, India. It is the administrative headquarters of the area including Kolayad, Peruva, Vayannur, Alacherry, Nedumpoil and situated 518 km north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. During British rule in India, when Kolayad was a part of the Cannanore including in Malabar District (Madras Presidency). Kannur is the well developed region in high range in Kannur.
