Kotte Hemanth Royal
Kotte Hemanth Royal (born 2 March 1996) is an Indian student leader, full-time social activist, and political worker affiliated with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He currently serves as the President of the Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) for the Tirupati Parliament constituency. Known for his active role in student and civic issues in Andhra Pradesh, he has led various protests and grassroots movements.

Early life and education
Hemanth Royal was born into a lower-middle-class Balija (O.C) family in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Civil Engineering.[1] He is fluent in Telugu and English and currently resides in M.R. Palli, Tirupati.
Political career
Hemanth Royal began his political journey in 2012 by joining the Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) at the age of 16. Over the years, he has held several leadership positions:
- In 2013, he was appointed TNSF Town President.
- In 2017, he was re-appointed to the same position.
- In 2019, he became TDP Unit Incharge for the 20th Division during the general elections.
- In 2021, he was appointed TNSF Tirupati Parliament President.
Activities and contributions
Hemanth Royal has led or participated in numerous protests and initiatives:
- Advocated for traffic signal installation near schools and colleges (2019).
- Participated in the "Amarana Nirahara Deeksha" hunger strike for special category status for Andhra Pradesh.
- Led "Dharma Porata Deeksha" protests against G.O No. 77.
- Protested the APPSC job scam and contributed to identifying fake voters in Tirupati.
- Conducted model EAMCET examinations for intermediate students.
- Helped facilitate BPL card issuance, housing schemes, and gas connections through government outreach.
- Contributed to the development of CC roads and infrastructure in M.R. Palli.
- Organized anti-drug awareness campaigns in schools and colleges.
Electoral performance
As TDP Unit Incharge in the 20th Division of the Tirupati Assembly segment:
- 2014: Booth Incharge – 870 votes secured with a 73-vote majority.
- 2015 (By-election): Unit Incharge – 950 votes with an 800-vote majority.
- 2019: Unit Incharge – 860 votes with a 150-vote majority.
- 2024: Unit Incharge – 2,219 votes out of 3,739 polled, with an 841-vote majority.
Public statements and protests
In November 2023, Hemanth Royal led a protest demanding the release of ₹1,650 crore in pending fee reimbursement dues affecting thousands of students.[2]
In June 2024, he met Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, demanding action against fake betting and trading apps misleading youth.[3]
In February 2025, he publicly opposed the YSRCP’s “Fee Struggle” student campaign, stating it lacked real impact and was politically motivated.[4]
