The company was founded in Silicon Valley in the year 2000. Since then, it has raised over $24M in funding[citation needed] from investors, principally NEA, Sutter Hill Ventures, Draper Richards, and INC3.
The company initially focused on delivering collaborative opportunity management and document management products. From 2005 onwards, it shifted its focus to software development life cycle tools, with process workflow capabilities in its web-based offering. In 2006, the company set up its development, test and support center in India. In 2009, the company was included in SD Times' list of the top ten companies in the ALM market.[3]
Pegasys, a Michigan-based IT services company, joined with Kovair to provide ALM and ITSM solutions to clients in South India.[4]
