Ahmed Hilal Dabir (born September 5, 1994), better known by his stage name Kresnt is a Canadian hip-hop recording artist and record producer from Vancouver, Canada.
Early life
Dabir was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, but left at the age of four due to the war in his hometown. He moved with his three brothers and parents to Canada. His parents were born in Afghanistan – his mother was a high school teacher and his father was a flight engineer, now the head engineer at MTU Canada. Kresnt first became interested in music after his mother bought him a hip-hop compact disc (Cam’ron's Confessions of Fire) in the third grade. He began freestyling and rap battling in high school and released his first song under the alias King H in 2009.
Music career
Dabir released a new track, entitled The Lunar Phase with collaborators, and the lead single's music video has over 1 million views. [1].
The six-track EP featured production and engineering work by Ken Lewis, who is best known for his 55 Grammy nominations and work with Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Future, Wu Tang Clan and more. He also has a feature from Atlanta's Nessly, and – in April of 2018 – released his first video "In Your Place"[2]. That video has received over one million views on Youtube[3][4].
Also in April of 2018, Kresnt debuted the project at a sold-out listening party in his hometown last month.
