Krisha Kurup(born 31 July 1994)[1] is an Indian actress and Bharatanatyam dancer. Predominantly working in Tamil industry.

She made her acting debut in the Tamil film Azhagu_Kutti_Chellamin in 2016. She played a leading role in her next Tamil release titled Goli_Soda_2 directed and cinematographed by Vijay_Milton in 2018. Her latest release was the bilingual (Tamil,Telugu) movie Clap_(film) which released on SonyLIV in 2022. She made her Telegu debut with Clap_(film) along side Aadhi_Pinisetty, Aakanksha_Singh and Nassar_(actor). 2022 also marks her entry into Malayalam_cinema with a Kerala_State_Film_Development_Corporation project titled 'B-32 muthal 44 vare' along side Remya_Nambeesan,Harish_Uthaman,Anarkali_Marikar directed by Shruthi Sharanyam.

== Early life ==

Krisha Kurup was born on 31st July 1994 in Mumbai,Maharastra to Vinod Kurup,a businessman and Ambika Kurup, working professional in the felid of accounts. Her parents introduced her to Bharatanatyam at the age of 3, under the guidance of Guru smt. Vasantasena Srinivasan. She continues to perform and seek the guidance under her guru.
She did her schooling from Swami Vivekananda High School,Chembur and received her Bachelor's Degree in Mass Media (Avertising) from SIES_College_of_Arts,_Science_Commerce, Mumbai.

== Career ==

Krisha made her acting debut with the Tamil movie Azhagu_Kutti_Chellam in 2016 directed by Anthony Charles, in which she played the character of a pregnant teenager aspiring to be a chess champion, Nila . Her next release was Koottali directed by SK Mathi in 2018. 2018, also saw the release of Goli_Soda_2 directed by Vijay_Milton in which Krisha played one of lead heroine, Mathi with Essaki bharath as her pair. The song of Goli_Soda_2, Pondattee by Achu_Rajamani (Music Director of Goli Soda 2 ) was her claim to fame which crossed 60 million views on YouTube.The movie also had an esemble cast of Samuthirakani , Gautham_Vasudev_Menon ,

After Goli Soda 2, Krisha signed her recent release Clap_(film)< ref>https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15353864/</ref> directed by Prithvi Aadithya, starring Aadhi_Pinisetty. The movie is a bilingual Sports-Drama that revolved around the lives of Kathir/Vishnu, Durga/Bhagyalakshmi and Mithra. The role of Durga/Bhagyalakshmi (400m athlete) required her to transform physically a into an athlete, for which she trained in Chennai under Athletics coaches for a period of 3 months. She lost 17 kgs for playing the part which won her accolades and great reviews from the both, industry and audience. Due to the global pandemic the movie had a delayed OTT release on SonyLIV in March 2022.

Her upcominng projects include Jothi by debutant director Krishnamoorthy starring along with Vetri and Sheela_Rajkumar.
