The Kuppam Airport is expected to be built at Kuppam, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.[1] The greenfield airport will be built by the Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (INCAP).[2] The project site is located at Shantipuram mandal, about 25 km (16 mi) from the proposed eight-lane Chennai–Bangalore Expressway, and will be built at an estimated cost of ₹100 crore (US$14 million) in 1,000 acres (4.0 km2).[1]

The region around Kuppam has a wide horticultural presence with several plantations of flowers, fruits and vegetables. The Chittoor district has also seen increased industrial activity. To benefit the economy of the area, a domestic airport has been proposed.[1]
In 2015, INCAP conducted a feasibility study for the development of five greenfield airports in the state, including Kuppam.[3][4] The Central Government of India cleared the proposal for an airport at Kuppam on 2 August[not in citation given] 2018.[1] The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, laid the foundation stone for the airport project on 3 January 2019.[5] Construction was originally slated to be completed within the next eight months.[5] After being reelected as Chief Minister in 2024, Naidu promised that construction of the "long-pending" airport would be expedited.[6]
