Kurt Iswarienko is an American celebrity photographer and director.[1]
Style[edit]
Iswarienko originally started filming with a Pentax 6x7 camera, but evolved into a digital-only photographer after becoming an early adopter of the technology during a demanding editorial shoot in Russia.[2][3]
In describing his work, he says that is primarily about "Emotions and people."[4]
Career[edit]
In 1997, Iswarienko moved to Hollywood, CA finding work as a film lighting technician on movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and The Ring. He shot stills on the set of the NBC TV show ‘Freaks and Geeks’.[5]
Iswarienko has photographed more than a dozen album including the cover of The Calling’s debut album Camino Palmero.[6] Iswarienko has worked with Vanessa Carlton, P!nk, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, and U2.[7][8]
Since 2012, Iswarienko has photographed Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck, Charlize Theron, Chris Pratt, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, James Franco, Jared Leto, Leonardo DiCaprio, and more.[9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16]
His work has been published in Vanity Fair, GQ, Interview Magazine, Icon Magazine, Flaunt Magazine, Esquire (Australia, British, Italia), The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and others.[9][11]
He has collaborated with several brands, including Gillette, Uniqlo, and Netflix.[17][18]
Personal Life[edit]
Iswarienko was born in Akron, Ohio on June 22, 1974, to Irene and Alexander Iswarienko.[19] He is married to actress Shannen Doherty.[20]
