Kushal Kumar Tiwari (born 16 September 1987), also known as Physio KT, is an Indian physiotherapist and athletic trainer. He has worked with professional football clubs and federations including Minerva Academy FC, Delhi FC, Chandigarh Football Association, and Punjab Football Association, as well as supporting athletes under the All India Football Federation.[1]

He is credited with introducing professional sports-specific hydrotherapy rehabilitation and aquatic athletic training in India.[2]

Biography

Tiwari completed his early schooling in government schools in Khandwa district. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from Himalayan University and a master’s degree in sports rehabilitation from IEC University, Himachal Pradesh.

In his youth, he served seven years as a volunteer in the Indian National Scouts, receiving the “Best Cadet of the Year” award in 2004. He also trained in defence combat skills, rescue and survival techniques.

Alongside academics, Tiwari competed as a professional taekwondo fighter (black belt) under the Taekwondo Federation of India. He won a team Poomsae gold medal at the 2017 World Open Taekwondo Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.

Tiwari has worked with several leading Indian footballers and athletes, including members of India’s U-17 and U-23 squads and players such as Germanpreet Singh, Anirudh Thapa, Kamaljit Singh, Anwar Ali, Souvik Das, and Kiran Chemjong (Nepal).

He served as head physiotherapist and hydrotherapist for Minerva Academy FC between 2014 and 2017,[3] covering competitions such as the Durand Cup, I-League, and AFC Cup.
