Arvind Bhateja is an Indian neurosurgeon, hospital administrator, and philanthropist based in Bengaluru, Karnataka.[1] He was the managing trustee of the Sita Bhateja Specialty Hospital, a multi-specialty hospital founded by his mother, Dr. Sita Bhateja.[2][3] Apart from his medical career, he is also a competitive cyclist who has raised funds for medical treatment of underprivileged patients through the Sita Bhateja Trust.

Early life and career

Bhateja trained in neurosurgery and joined the medical practice started by his mother, Dr. Sita Bhateja, in Bengaluru. He later assumed the role of managing trustee at the Sita Bhateja Specialty Hospital, where he specialized in performing complex neurosurgical procedures. The hospital had been recognized for offering advanced care in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and critical care.[4]

Cycling and philanthropy

Outside of medicine, Bhateja is a competitive amateur cyclist. He has participated in national and international cycling events, including endurance races. His efforts combine athletics with philanthropy: through the Sita Bhateja Trust, he raises funds from cycling activities to subsidize medical treatment for economically disadvantaged patients.[5][6]
