Kyle Schroeder
Kyle Schroeder (born January 18, 1978) was a XFL defensive tackle for the Birmingham Thunderbolts.[1]
High school years[edit]
Kyle Schroeder attended Wayne Valley High School in Wayne, New Jersey, and was student athlete of the year in 1996. In football, Schroeder broke the state record for sacks in his junior year with 22 and was a member of the All-State team as a senior.[citation needed]
College career[edit]
Schroeder attended Dartmouth College,[1] and was a three-year letterman in football. He was a two-time All-Ivy selection and a 1999 National Strength and Conditioning All-American as well as a member of the 1996 undefeated Ivy-League championship team.
Professional career[edit]
Schroeder joined the Birmingham Thunderbolts of the XFL when he received a phone call from the defensive line coach and offered a spot on the practice squad. After two weeks on the team, Schroeder joined the active roster and two weeks later joined the starting line-up. Kyle Schroeder was the only Ivy League athlete listed on an XFL roster. After the XFL's demise, Schroeder left to play for the Jacksonville Tomcats of the AFL 2. Following his football career, Schroeder joined the cast of UPN's The Player (TV series). Schroeder has graduated from the Tuck School of Business in 2007 and is currently working as an Associate in Mergers & Acquisitions at Citi.
