Lázně Poděbrady
Lázně Poděbrady is a joint-stock company providing spa care in Poděbrady . The spa is known for the treatment of heart disease (after heart attack , angina pectoris , chronic coronary artery disease ), which is why the motto is "For the heart there is Podebrady". Also treated are metabolic diseases, diabetes , obesity , or locomotive organs.
History[edit]
At the beginning of the 20th century, the owner of the Poděbrady estate Arnošt Filip Hohenlohe of Schillingsfürst tried to find a source of drinking water for Poděbrady. In 1905 he invited the Prussian landowner and dowager Baron Büllow of Bothkamp to Poděbrady. He marked the place of the source. On August 1, 1905, a spring of mineral water sprouted from a depth of 96.7 meters from the well in the courtyard of Poděbrady Castle. In 1907, three public springs (Bülow, Hohenlohe and Charicléa) were drilled. In 1908 Poděbrady spa was founded. In 1919 the spa was taken over by the newly established joint stock company. [1]
On May 1, 1992, the joint stock company Lázně Poděbrady was established.
Scientific Council[edit]
Since 1997, the Scientific Board of Poděbrad Spa, composed of experts in the fields of cardiology , diabetology, physiology and orthopedics, oversees the quality of spa care . The founder and chairman of the professional college is Milan Šamánek . The aim of the board is to introduce new diagnostic and treatment methods for spa care, to check the professional level and to guarantee a high standard of spa treatment. [2]
