The LEL Brothas (formed in early 2006) is an American hip hop group from Prescott Valley, Arizona. Founded by DJ Clone, this group also includes member Nytmare, formerly known as LBC and hype man C5. Some expect the LEL Brothas to become major players in the music industry. This group not only present music but a unique movement.[1]
The LEL Brothas have rapidly gained international exposure by bringing not only music, but a movement to the industry. From early success with the "Fresh out the Root" album in early 2007 to "The Epidemic" in early 2010, the LEL Brothas have shown versatility with their music. In late 2011, the LEL Brothas made history by being the first hip hop group to ever perform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a closed country that usually does not allow public concerts of non-Saudi music.[2]
The meaning of the acronym "LEL" is the key focus of the press and fans alike, sparked by the fact that it has yet to be disclosed by the group (although at times playfully referenced). In the 2011 album "The Epidemic," Nytmare references LEL by saying "Quit asking what LEL means, it drives me insane, if I told you the secret, it would blow out your brain"[3]
Although the true meaning has not been released, DJ Clone often teases the media and fans by stating "Come to a show and find out!"

Although the group officially has two members, DJ Clone and Nytmare [4] the LEL Brothas often perform with hype man Cb5 who referred to himself in an interview with Arizona in the Morning Talk Show as the "LEL Step-brother." All three of these rappers are originally from Calfornia, but met each other and started the LEL Brothas in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
The LEL Brothas originally formed in 2006 and had three members which included DJ Clone, Brotha Fletch and Big Lee. While recording their debut album Fresh out the Root the LEL Brothas were signed by super producer Wade Martin (music producer) to JWM Records. Producer Wade Martin (music producer) has production credits with artists such as: 50 Cent, DMX (rapper), Nas, R. Kelly, Britney Spears and The Rolling Stones. Sometime after Fresh out the Root was released in 2007 the groups members changed. DJ Clone was still in the group alongside a new member to the group, Nytmare. The musical style and delivery of The LEL Brothas changed with the addition of Nytmare.
The LEL Brothas topped the internet charts and local radio charts within Arizona with the Fresh out the Root album. In 2010, the LEL Brothas released their second album The Epidemic. The LEL Brothas movement, also known as "The LEL Nation," encourages fans to dress as zombies and attend shows showing they have been assimilated into LEL Nation.[2] The LEL Brothas seem to follow a virus theme that drives their music and will define their future albums.
In Early June 2011, the LEL Brothas made hip hop history by being the first hip hop group to ever perform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.[5]
On December 21, 2011 the song entitled "Hatas" off The Epidemic album was released for the video game Rock Band.[6]
On February 5, 2013 the LEL Brothas again ventured to the Middle East, as special guests of the US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ambassador James Smith.[4] The tour encompassed shows in the UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, of which the entire tour was sold out with tickets topping out at $98.00 USD appearing on local KSA channel 2 and world wide on the Filipino Channel.[7]
The LEL Brothas announced their new album The Pandemic during their tour overseas.[7] The album is expected to be released in 2013.
