Leighton Carpenter (2018-present), known as LTZ Realname, is an American rapper and producer known for his single Pride released May 20, 2022.

Biography

Leighton Carpenter was born in Phoenix, AZ in 2003. He lived in Arizona until he moved to Saint Louis, MO at eight years old. While in Missouri, he began writing poetry and listening to artists such as Logic, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and K.A.A.N.

Career

LTZ RealName uploaded his first EP on SoundCloud titled Medicate named after the song Medicate by underground Rock band -Itis in late 2018. LTZ RealName would go on to release 2 more EPs in 2018 titled Episode2 and EP 3. He would then begin work on his first mixtape titled Test Your Might releasing in early 2019 and including a feature from underground rapper Slim Samaritan. From 2019-2020, he would release 5 more EPs and begin work on two mixtape trilogies, Young Gambino a boom-bap and lyric centric alter-ego based on rapper Logic's Young Sinatra mixtapes and the other simply titled MIXTAPE based on Logic's Bobby Tarantino mixtapes. After gaining moderate success from his first two mixtapes, LTZ RealName began working on his first album Next Up To bat. and for the rest of 2020, he released three more albums titled Dear, Future Me, Dear, Future Me: Side B and Sunflowers with four more mixtapes titled MIXTAPE 2, Young Gambino 2, Self Ire and Young Gambino 3. Going into 2021, LTZ RealName ended the MIXTAPE series with the final mixtape titled MIXTAPE 3 and began work his next album The Other. The Other was based off the concept of othering. After making The Other, LTZ RealName went right back to work and put out two more albums in 2021 with Death Around The Corner 2, an album including 3 features from underground artist Saf, The Artist, and the other one titled LIFE / / JUDGEMENT. In 2022, LTZ RealName has released only 2 EPs with one being a collaborative effort from artists on his label HeartGang Media T Moss, Zak Frost and Sam B titled 4VIBEZ and the other being a solo effort titled DION. that was reminiscent of his MIXTAPE era sound.
