Labelbox is an American private artificial intelligence company based in San Francisco, CA. The company builds a software platform to create and manage labeled visual data for rapidly building deep learning applications.[3]
As of July 2018, Labelbox software is used by 5,000 users, including large companies such as Condé Nast and Lytx.[4]
History
Labelbox was founded in March 2018 by former Boeing, DroneDeploy, and Planet Labs engineers Brian Rieger, Daniel Rasmuson, and Manu Sharma. Ysiad Ferreiras, former COO at Hustle,[5] later joined as the fourth co-founder.
In July 2018, the company announced $3.9 million in series seed funding from top-tier venture capital firms Kleiner Perkins, First Round Capital, and Google's new AI-focused investment fund, Gradient Ventures.[6]
